Following a new classification of a chemical substance used in our company, this operation division is subject to the Hazard Incidence Ordinance (Störfall-Verordnung) (12th ordinance for the implementation of the Federal Emission Control Act (Bundes-Immissionsschutzgesetz)).
With the Federal Emission Control Act (Bundes-Immissionsschutzgesetz (BImSchG)) and the Hazard Incidence Ordinance (Störfallverordnung (12th BImSchV)), the legislative body generated rules and standards which commit the industry to a safe working. Besides the rules to prevent and/or limit incidents and to document the safety measures, the Hazard Incidence Ordinance also includes the duty to appropriate information of the public.
Despite all technical and organisational measures, failures or incidents cannot be excluded completely. To protect our neighbours and minimise the effects of such possible events on the environment, internal and public danger prevention plans exist.
